A short and to the point email appeared from Becky. “Lunch tomorrow?”

He couldn't think of anything he wanted less than to fuck around with her.

“Sorry, already have something on.” He refused for the first time, politely.

“You know Friday's are mine,” she shot back. He didn't reply.

Becky and he were done. She'd had her last session with him. Now he needed to think of the best way to deliver that news.

Just before three he looked up as Sean arrived, more smug than ever, at Fliss' side.

It seemed like things were moving fast. He had his hand on her shoulder and was leaning down close and speaking into her ear. She was smiling and writing something down for him.

She gave him her address. They weren't going on a real date, surely?

“I'll see you at eight, then,” Sean said as he walked off smiling. He threw Jay a triumphant glance as he passed.

Jay was more than fuming. He couldn't stand the idea of that bastard laying a single finger on Fliss. Not that he had any rights over her himself. They were purely colleagues and he was her desk manager. The fact that they were also friends who had had some very heated moments together didn’t amount to any kind of commitment. But dammit, he didn’t need this crap going on at the moment! There was already far too much for him to worry about.

Frustrated and more upset about Fliss's date than he would be willing to admit, he got up quickly and silently and left for home. He didn't speak to anyone. He couldn't trust himself not to bite some guy's head off.
